The Swiss Alps are magnificent in their landscape and dramatic in the legends that fill it.  The cyclist Hugo Koblet was the best to personify the enviable Swiss lifestyle.  Koblet was a man who was revered  as a man with no equal and no enemies.  He secured his legend as a 3-time winner of the Tour of Switzerland, before a tragic death.  Much like the country, Koblet’s legend is both beautiful and haunting.

SWISS TRADITIONS

EXPLORING MODERN MOUNTAIN LIFE

FROM PEAKS TO THE TRACK

FROM 2,500 TO 250 METERS

Experiencing something entirely new on the bicycle defines every trip at Velo Classic. Participating in  a different discipline of cycling is even more exciting, and what we offer on this trip.  The World Cycling Center in Aigle, home to the headquarters of the UCI and a modern training facility, welcomes us for a track cycling initiation session. I first did this in 2005 with Olympic gold medalist Robert Bundi as my instructor and it was two hours of the most thrilling cycling of my life. We are excited to offer this opportunity to embrace your inner trackie. Just remember, don’t stop pedaling!

"THE RIGHT COMBINATION"

“We can’t thank you enough for making our trip to the Alps so memorable.  We had high expectations from the outset-all of which were exceeded. While the logistics, accommodations and details are very important to your guest, the most important- and the most difficult- aspect of a trip to accomplish is the feel. You succeeded perfectly in promoting the right combination of exertion, relaxation, sophistication and fellowship. And you did it all so naturally, a reflection of the wonderful people that you are.”

SUBLIME FOOD AND WINE

BETTER THAN FONDUE

Switzerland is probably best known, at least popularly, for its precision and undeniably dramatic landscape.  But many do not give the country its due when it comes to gastronomy.  Many Swiss remain in the area they were born and raised in and so they are filled with tradition that runs as local as the smallest towns.  A new generation of young chefs have redefined these traditions by using the bounty the Swiss countryside produces.  I can guarantee your dining experiences will be nothing like you imagined Swiss food to be like.
